Cristin Richard announces Performance Installation “Point of Return” on March 22nd

If you are aware of what kind of sacrifice went into creating an object, does it not influence how you value and care for it, or how long you keep it?

In Point Of Return, Detroit artist Cristin Richard opens up a conversation about “value” in contemporary society. Set within the glorious Presidential Ballroom of historic The Detroit Club, time and space will be the basis of this performative installation. Established in 1882, it is one of the nation’s oldest private clubs. Non-members will have exclusive access to the members-only levels of the club for this special evening only.

Cristin Richard’s creative approach examines sustainable practices in a methodical way, specifically those related to nature and the environment. She has a particular interest in the manipulation of organic matter, for her selected palette pushes forth a dialog of what it feels like to be human. The human being is like nature; it transforms and regenerates in poetic and unpredictable ways.

The one-evening event will take place on Friday, March 22nd, from 7-10pm at The Detroit Club, located in downtown Detroit at 712 Cass Avenue. Featured cocktail courtesy of Northern Diamond Management and cash bar.
