For the past 25 years, Matrix Human Services’ ArtWorks Detroit event has leveraged the love of art to raise critical funds for children and families in need throughout Detroit. This year, the funds are more vital than ever as they will go towards COVID-19 relief programming, so the event will go on in an expanded format from August 24-27th with private viewing appointments and online bidding.

There will be over 90 pieces of art available for auction and several amazing experiences available for purchase to continue support of Matrix and participate again in ArtWorks Detroit. To register to bid or preview artwork, please note the following information:

1. Online bidding is available from August 24 at 8:00 am – August 27 at 10:00 pm. Please register to become a bidder on the safe and easy-to-use platform powering ArtWorks bidding this year, ClickBid, by clicking HERE.

2. Art is best viewed in person and Matrix has arranged for a safe and physically-distant friendly in-person viewing experience on August 25 and 26 at Wasserman Gallery in Eastern Market from 12:00 – 6:00 pm. If you would like to participate, please CLICK HERE to make an appointment.  

3. Celebrate with us at Matrix’s virtual gala on Thursday, August 27 from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm on Matrix’s Facebook Live. Kirby Gwen will host and Drake Phifer will DJ. We will also have special features from artists and honorary chairs. This event is open to all, yet you will receive a notification to join us if you register to bid.

ArtWorks Detroit is one of the most premier charity art auctions in our region. Matrix has partnered with some of Detroit’s most renowned artists to secure stellar works of art to influence another impactful event. Matrix Human Services understands the importance of being able to view our artwork in person. In accordance with guidelines by local and state officials, this year collectors will have opportunity to see this year’s featured works at Wasserman Projects by appointment.

In-person previews will be held on August 25 & August 26 from 12:00 pm – 6:00 pm both days. Due to the popularity of ArtWorks Detroit and anticipated interest in viewing the art in person, appointments are required. RSVP here.
