SERAPHINE COLLECTIVE PRESENTS BFF FEST CELEBRATING DIVERSITY & FEMALE MUSICIANS

BFF (Best Fest Forever) Fest is an all-ages inclusive summer music festival in Detroit created to highlight, celebrate, and promote the talents of Michigan’s diverse community of musicians and artists. Seraphine Collective and the Museum of Contemporary Art Detroit  present the 2nd Annual BFF Fest on Saturday, July 25, 2015 from 2pm-midnight at MOCAD. Seraphine Collective is an inclusive, supportive and active community of female-identified musicians and artists designed to foster creative expression and camaraderie among feminists in Detroit.

The Festival line-up includes R. Ring, Gashrat, Bonehead, Blizzard Babies, Electric Wiccans, and Prude Boys. The festival focuses on the participation of women, people of color and LGBTQA performers; BFF Fest strives to be progressive, modern, and thoughtful in the curation of its lineup and fosters consciousness toward building a stronger, supportive, and most importantly, a more diverse and balanced scene in Detroit and the Midwest region.

BFF FEST tickets are available Detroit at Hello Records and Peoples Records, in Dearborn at Stormy Records, in Ferndale at FOUND SOUND, and in Royal Oak at UHF. $10 cash. Or buy them online!

BFF Fest will be collecting in-kind donations at BFF Fest of the following unused items for Alternatives for Girls: Bras (all sizes); Women’s socks (all sizes); Hygiene items (travel and full-sized); Gift cards (Target, Meijer, Bath & Body Works, Michael’s, Joann Fabrics, Movies); Craft supplies, like colored pencils, crayons, and construction paper; Healthy snacks, like crackers, fruit cups, and granola bars. Donors will receive a free raffle ticket.

Alternatives For Girls mission is to help homeless and high-risk girls and young women avoid violence, teen pregnancy and exploitation, and help them to explore and access the support, resources and opportunities necessary to be safe, to grow strong and to make positive choices in their lives.

Official after party at Donovan’s Pub (3003 Vernor Hwy, Detroit, MI 48216), FREE and starting at midnight with special guest DJs Vanessa + Katrina.
