ARTSPACE ANNOUNCES 16 MILLION DOLLAR LIVE/WORK CAMPUS IN DEARBORN TO CREATE AN ANCHOR FOR CREATIVE ECONOMY

Calling all artists! Do you need live-work space in the Detroit-area?

City Hall Artspace Lofts will be a mixed-use arts campus that will build upon Southeast Michigan’s heritage as a world center of innovation by creating a new anchor institution for the region’s creative economy. City Hall Artspace Lofts combines 53 units of affordable live/work space for artists and their families, work studios, incubator space for entrepreneurs and artists, office space for creative businesses and non profits, a live/work unit for an artist-in-residency program, and galleries.

The Artspace development team, the East Dearborn Downtown Development Authority and the City of Dearborn are pleased to announce three upcoming public information sessions for prospective tenants of the City Hall Artspace Lofts.
All artists who are interested can attend the upcoming information session to learn more about the City Hall Artspace Lofts now under construction in East Dearborn. Find out more about Artspace, living in the Lofts, and how to apply.

UPCOMING INFORMATION SESSION

When: Thursday, October 15, 2015, 6:00 p.m.
Where: Tech Shop 800 Republic Drive, Allen Park, MI 48101

The City Hall Artspace Lofts, a $16.5 million arts campus project that includes 53 units of affordable live/work housing for artists and their families, along with non-residential space for working studios, incubator space, galleries and creative businesses. The City Hall Artspace Lofts complex consists of three buildings: the City Hall Building, the West Annex Building, and the Concourse. The historic City Hall and West Annex buildings will house the residential units, community room, outdoor patio, and corridor art galleries. The Concourse Building, built in 1980, connects City Hall and the West Annex and will provide small business incubator space, art galleries, community meeting/classroom space, office space, and individual co-working studios.

With construction currently underway, the project is slated for completion in late 2016.
