BAM CINEMAFEST PRESENTS “DETROPIA” DOCUMENTARY & DIRECTOR Q&A

BAM’s Cinema Fest has featured the NYC premiere screening of Rachel Grady and Heidi Ewing’s acclaimed documentary “Detropia.” PLAYGROUND DETROIT was in the audience for the NYC. The directors were both in attendance and held a Q&A with the audience after the movie. The editing in the film, which was already awarded Sundance recognition was well done- the shots were beautiful and the music composition of the film made this not your regular documentary.

BAM reports, the veteran BAMcinemaFest filmmakers return with:

“This lyrical exploration of the Motor City, turning their lens to intrepid Detroiters—both young and old and from the frustrated to the idealistic—as they grapple with the ever-changing landscape of America’s fastest-shrinking city.”

When we last spoke of “Detropa” the film has just won the award for Best Editing of a Feature Length Film at the Sundance Film Festival.

We will be posting more details about the night soon.
