Call for Artists: SaveArtSpace to curate public art billboards for Detroit Art Week 2019

SaveArtSpace, a Brooklyn/Detroit-based public art non-profit has partnered with PLAYGROUND DETROIT to bring public art to Detroit via ad space and group gallery exhibition during Detroit Art Week, in celebration of Ellen Rutt’s upcoming featured installation opening to the public on Saturday, July 20th.

We invite artists of all ages and talents to submit between April 2 and May 28, 2019. This is your opportunity to have your art work on ad space in Detroit for the month of July and during Detroit Art Week, July 16-21.

There is a $10 donation per image submission to participate, each donation is a tax deduction and goes to producing the public art. Each artist is encouraged to submit up to 10 images. The selected artists will be announced the week of June 10, and will be exhibited on ad space starting July 8 and the original artwork on view at PLAYGROUND DETROIT, 2845 Gratiot Avenue, Detroit, MI, in July 2019 with an opening reception on July 13, from 6-9p.

Curated by Ellen Rutt, a Detroit-based multi-disciplinary artist.

All submissions will be featured on SaveArtSpace social media pages, with permission from the artist.

Founded in 2015 in Brooklyn, NY, SaveArtSpace is a non-profit organization that works to create an urban gallery experience, launching exhibitions that address intersectional themes and foster a progressive message of social change.
