From the automotive industry to the birth of Techno, Detroit has long been a center for innovation and culture. Although New York and Los Angeles are usually thought of first, Detroit is the only UNESCO-designated design city within the U.S. and a hotspot for burgeoning changemakers.

Presented by Design Core, the ongoing Detroit Month of Design looks to continue to city’s pedigree in cultivating top-tier talent spanning a range of creative industries. Additional exhibitions include CCS’ exhibition dedicated to broadening careers in mobility and transportation, Cranbrook Academy of Art’s Chair ShowJulian J. Jones’ solo show inspired by African American quilting, a Sneaker House showcase by Foot Locker and much more.

There are over 100 events in total, from open studios and large-scale exhibitions, to outdoor markets, experiential events and online offerings.
