DETROIT (WJBK) – Playground Detroit is furthering efforts to support and promote Detroit talent by opening an event space in the Eastern Market District.

Playground Detroit was founded by two Detroit friends who worked in the creative industry in New York City. Paulina Petkoski and Samantha Banks say, while they lived there, they were always asked what’s happening back home in Detroit. They say they couldn’t really “tell” people about the huge artistic movement happening back home, so they decided to show them.
