“Hot Logic” Concert Series Kicks Off This Friday at MOCAD Presented by MeanRed ft. Bonobo, Dej Loaf & more
MeanRed has a built their reputation as a music presenter through their impressive show bookings in both New York City and Detroit. Returning to the Motor City once again this July, they have teamed up with the Museum of Contemporary Art Detroit to present a new outdoor Summer music series, “Hot Logic.”
“The Museum of Contemporary Art Detroit (MOCAD) and MeanRed Productions are excited to present HOT LOGIC, a new outdoor concert series offering a stellar lineup of musical artists from Detroit and beyond. On four evenings in July, the Museum will open its front doors and back yard creating an immersive art experience featuring outdoor performances, local food vendors, full service bars, and exclusive access to MOCAD’s exhibitions.”-MOCAD website

Friday, July 5th: Bonobo (DJ set), Omar-S, Rimarkable
Stealthily rising to become one of the biggest electronic artists of our time, Bonobo’s latest “Migration” album was his biggest yet, achieving a Top 5 position in the UK and nominated for best Electronic album at The Grammy’s, cementing his breakthrough in America. He will be joined by our very own Omar-S, along with multi-instrumentalist Rimarkable.
Monday, July 15th: Meshell Ndegeocello, Ian Fink
Bassist, singer, and songwriter Meshell Ndegeocello explores the politics of race and sex, among other topics. Her latest album Ventriloquism (2018), saw her reinterpreting formative R&B classics of the ’80s and early ’90s. She will be joined by the prolific and consistently impressive Ian Fink.
Friday, July 19th: Dej Loaf
Platinum-selling rapper Dej Loaf grew up on the east side of Detroit. In 2018 she released the ‘Go DeJ Go’ Vol. 1 EP as well as singles “Liberated” with Leon Bridges and “LIFL” with Jonn Hart.
Friday, July 26th: TOKiMONSTA, Dua Saleh, Shigeto, & Attak
Grammy-nominated Californian producer Jennifer Lee, aka TOKiMONSTA, rarely ceases to surprise with her eclectic electronic masterpieces. She will be joined by the inimitable Dua Saleh, Ghostly International’s Shigeto, and Detroit’s own Attak.
