LISTEN UP: THE KODAKS RELEASE THEIR DEBUT ALBUM “NIGHT SURFING”

Self-described as, “60’s jangle pop, mixed with 70’s glam-rock, mixed with 80’s post punk mixed, with 90’s indie pop mixed with…. whatever;” The Kodaks are a Detroit-based indie band with an awesome sound. Band members include Adam Fitzgerald, Vocals/Guitar, Jeff Yateman, Drums/Vocals, Dylan Caron, Guitar, and Mat Hofman, Bass. Their debut album, Night Surfing was released in May of 2012 and features hit after hit- reminiscent of early The Strokes, The Killers, mixed with a little of The Kooks. Blogger Will Oliver of We All Want Someone To Shout For, describes The Kodaks self-titled EP:

When listening to their self titled EP Kodaks, I thought of it as a bedroom songs fleshed out by a full band. Adam [Fitzgerald] finds a way to combine an honest singer-songwriter approach to garage rock riffs that remind me of The Strokes. It’s a great piece of pop-rock that deserves to gain [them] some well deserved exposure.”- VIA WAWSTSF
