Movement Festival 2019 opened on Saturday with full-force- of nature, that is- due to dangerous storm conditions, the festival was promptly evacuated around 4pm to keep attendees safe while the rains pounded down. After (the mighty) but brief storm passed, electronic music hardly missed a beat, lining up once again to enter Hart Plaza to see all of the much anticipated performances.
Despite the weekend’s lackluster weather, lovers of electronic music gathered from far and wide to bask in the energy of sensational performances beginning with top local talent including Detroit’s DJ Holographic and culminating with a global creative force, Virgil Abloh. Check out our photo recap from PLAYGROUND DETROIT photographers Bre’Ann White and Broccoli. For more images, don’t miss our photo album.
