Paxahau, Detroit’s electronic music powerhouse and producer of Movement Music Festival is celebrating their 20th year in the techno music industry. In true techno style, they have created a weekend-long celebration featuring Techno titan Richie Hawtin, dance music pioneer John Acquaviva, and Detroit underground legend Acid Pimp, along with DJ sets including Michael Geiger, Craig Gonzalez and Mister Joshooa. The 20-year milestone celebration, Pax.20 takes place on Saturday, September 8th at Bert’s Warehouse in Eastern Market. Fans can expect a night reminiscent of Detroit’s famous warehouse parties.
The event will feature two rooms, including the return of the “Funk Furnace” concept in the second room, for those wanting to take a break from the Techno mayhem in the main room. Michael Geiger, Craig Gonzalez, and Mister Joshooa will be holding down the smooth and funky vibes all night long.
Michael Geiger is known as a house DJ, and guests can expect a mix of hip-hop, funk, boogie disco sounds coming from his set in the Funk Furnace room. “It’s an honor to be asked to play this evening, as it’s a special event that is bringing back a lot of us that used to play together in the warehouse scene in the 90’s; it’s a definitely a family affair.”
Craig Gonzalez is Detroit-based DJ since the mid-90’s. His musical influences include Mike Huckaby, DeepChord, Basic Channel, Ron Trent, Keith Kemp, Derek Plaslaiko, Michael Geiger, Steely Dan, Hall & Oates, Parliament/Funkadelic, J Dilla, House Shoes, King Tubby, ScientistListen to his music below.
Mister Joshooa is one most versatile DJs in the Detroit. He is a resident DJ at TV Lounge legend and also serves as its Music Director.
Richie HawtinThis English-born artist grew up in LaSalle Ontario, and was exposed to Detroit techno as a youngster. Richie Hawtin is a global success, recognized for his impact on electronic music. Although he has released music under various names, this owner of Plus 8 and M_nus record labels is highly recognizable.
Well-known for his esteemed ENTER event at Space nightclub in Ibiza, this artist got into Detroit techno at his more humble beginnings. Richie Hawtin has received countless awards and accolades. He has been named “Best Techno DJ” three times at the DJ Awards, and has been nominated 17 times overall in categories like “Best International DJ and “Best DJ Innovator.”

Founded in 1998, Paxahau quickly established itself as a leading resource for electronic music content and events, most notably as one of the first platforms to stream music online through its Paxahau Webcast series. Many staples of the global electronic music scene have sets archived, including classic sets from Chris Liebing (2000), Carl Cox (2001), Ricardo Villalobos (2002), Marco Carola (2003), as well as Detroit Techno pioneers Carl Craig (2001) and Kevin Saunderson(2001), just to name a few.
