SERAPHINE COLLECTIVE PRESENTS LAST THURSDAY TO SHOWCASE FEMALE ROCKERS FROM DETROIT & BROOKLYN

Seraphine Collective presents Last Thursday, a monthly residency at PJ’s Lager House, in Detroit, Michigan. Seraphine Collective is an inclusive, supportive and active community of female musicians and artists designed to foster creative expression and camaraderie among feminists in Detroit.

The Last Thursday Residency was born from the idea of continuing last summer’s successful Best Fest Forever Fest [BFF Fest] Mission to highlight, celebrate, and promote the talents of Michigan’s diverse community of musicians and artists by prioritizing the participation of women/POC/LGBTQ performers through progressive, modern, and thoughtful curation in hopes to foster consciousness toward building a stronger, supportive, and most importantly, a more diverse and balanced scene.

Upcoming shows:

Rebel Kind // Prude Boys // Moonwalks // Best Exes // Thursday, January 29th at 9:00 PM

Prude Boys is three kids out of Hamtramck/Detroit/Ypsilanti/Ann Arbor, MI. Two girls, one guy, playing some hybrid of garage, surf, fuzz, 90’s pop, 90’s emo and maybe some post-punk in there.” –Band website

Best Exes is Jim Cherewick: vocals, guitar and Linda Jordan: vocals, guitar. Shortly after Linda moved to Detroit last year, Linda and Jim decided to get together and “jam.” They drank too much wine and wrote some silly songs, and it all spiraled from there.” –Seraphine Collective blog

Deadly Viper Assassination Squad// Sharkmuffin// Jenny Junior// Bonehead  //Thursday, March 26th at 9:00 PM

Featuring Sharkmuffin (Brooklyn, NY)

Sharkmuffin’s press posse describes the trio as “badass riot grrl.” And there’s no question that the sonic storm generated by Tarra Thiessen (guitar, lead vocals, theremin, keyboards), Natalie Kirch (bass, vocals), and Janet LaBelle (drums) slams through the speakers with enough punk intensity and sharpened hooks to draw favorable comparisons with the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Hole, Bikini Kill, and the Breeders—trailblazing alt-rock bands with strong female leads.” –PremiereGuitar
