During Bushwick Open Studios, Detroit-based arts non-profit, Spread Art will present two days of exhibition and programming featuring Brooklyn and Detroit artists, exploring patterns and effects of individual and group migration through site-specific movement, sonic and performance art in the street. Spread Art, an organization led by Christina deRoos and Thomas Bell, was once based in Brooklyn, NY and actually helped found Bushwick Open Studios back in 2006, which has since grown annually to be one of the most highly anticipated cultural summer events based in Bushwick, Brooklyn.

Saturday’s events are presented in conjunction with the Grattan Street Performance Block Party, presented by Spread Art, Pine Box Rock Shop, and thingNY. Below is a sneak peek of a film that will be screened on Saturday night. The artist who made it, Lisa Kortschak created the video in collaboration with many Detroit musicians during a Spread Art residency in July 2014.
