VIDEO PREMIERE: “MEDITATION” FROM BEN KEELER [DIR. BY THE DEKA BROTHERS]
With glittering melodies, lush production and dense walls of sound, Ben Keeler has released his full length album, Movo Daring, a cinematic indie-rock odyssey that listens like a Kubrick film.
Watch the exclusive video premiere of his first single, “Meditation” offers viewers a psychedelic vision quest. Filmed in Detroit and directed by The Deka Brothers, this surrealist mini-movie is a ritual journey complete with a totem dancing sorceress, live animals and a brightly colored Keeler as the main protagonist.
The honey croon and power-howling duality of Keeler’s voice weaves through alchemical guitar arrangements and vibrant punching rhythm. Lyrical themes play out in romanticised narratives, all veiled in mystical imagery.

Over the course of a year, Keeler wrote and arranged the songs on Movo Daring with drummer and long-time collaborator, David Dionise at the Russell Industrial Center, a large studio warehouse located in Detroit, Michigan. The album was recorded with Detroit-turned LA-producer, Alex Kaye (of Valley Hush) at Rustbelt Studios and Assemble Sound, featuring a variety of Detroit musicians with appearances throughout the recordings.
The Deka Brothers hail from Poiters, France where they crafted their style on music videos and many short productions with the artistic collective Les Films de la Lymphe. Ben and Julien Deka received the 2012 MTV Music Video Award for Best Visual Effects for their work on Skrillex’s First of the year (Equinox), directed by Tony T. Datis.
